Dashboard, View Usage (New Portal)

The View Usage page enables you to view the aggregate consumption for each service that your SIMs use as easy-to-read charts.

Basics

The View Usage screen is available from the main Aerport Portal menu under Dashboard. Selecting View Usage displays a chart of your account usage information over a selected timeframe. The View Usage screen also includes five drop-down filter menus that let you adjust the information displayed in your chart.

Navigating the View Usage Screen

The View Usage screen includes five filter menus that enable you to adjust the following:

  • Chart Type: The type of chart.
  • Usage Type: Type of SIM usage.
  • Time Period: The increment of time (Monthly, Daily, or Hourly).
  • From (UTC): Start date of displayed account billing information.
  • To (UTC): End date of displayed account billing information.

To filter the information displayed in the View Usage page:

  1. Click the Chart Type menu and select the chart you want to view.
  2. Click the Usage Type menu and select the type of SIM usage you want to view.
  3. Select the Time Period you want displayed in the chart.
  4. Set a start and end date displayed billing information using the From (UTC) and To (UTC) drop-down menus.
  5. Click Update Graph to load the new chart.

To view more detailed data about your billing history, hover your cursor over any data point in the chart. A small window appears with a breakdown of billing information from the selected point in time.

Usage Type Filter

The Usage Type filter enables you to filter the information displayed in the chart by the following types of SIM usage:

  • Data: Wireless internet access
  • SMS: Short messaging service
  • Voice: Voice calls
  • Registrations: Data registrations
  • Sessions: Data sessions

Working with Chart Types

The View Usage page can display four charts:

Note: Ensure you click Update Graph to load the selected chart type.

Total Usage

The Total Usage chart shows the total consumption of each service used in your account over the selected time period alongside the number of devices in your account. Usage is categorized in the following services:

  • MRC: Monthly recurring costs.
  • Data: Cost of consumed data that exceeded your plan.
  • SMS Charges: Cost of SMS used beyond the limits of your plan.
  • Voice Charges: Cost of Voice used beyond the limits of your plan.
  • Miscellaneous Charges: Any extra charges incurred by your account.

The legend beneath the chart indicates which bar colors map to each type of charge.

To view information about your device states at a given point in time, hover your cursor over the bar you want to view. A small window appears with more detailed information about your account billing history.

Average Usage

The Average Usage chart shows the average amount of data usage in your account over the selected time period.

The legend beneath the chart indicates which bar colors map to each type of data element.

To view information about your device states at a given point in time, hover your cursor over the bar you want to view. A small window appears with more detailed information about your account billing history.

Distribution

The Distribution chart shows the data consumption of each service in your account per device over the selected time period.

To view the number of devices included in any displayed distribution instance, hover your cursor over the bar you want to view.

Quartiles

The Quartiles chart shows the quartile data by month in your account over the selected time period.

To view information about your quartile data at a given point in time, hover your cursor over the bar you want to view. A small window appears with more detailed information about your quartile data.

Exporting the View Usage Graph Data

Click Export to export the graph data as a .csv file.

You can open a .csv file by importing it through the Microsoft Excel Data menu. To import your report file to Microsoft Excel:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and create a blank workbook.
  2. Select Data > From Text or From Text/CSV.
  3. Locate the .csv file in your Downloads or other designated folder.
  4. Right-click the file and select Import.
  5. Follow the subsequent prompts to specify a comma-delimited file.
  6. If you see an option for Data Type Detection, select Do not detect data types.
